Harper’s Reef Adventures

Today my class went to Gooches Beach Reef. I was with Grace Jellyman, Amelia, Autumn, and Lily. We found 3 starfish in the tidal pools. The first one was orange, small, and the legs were webbed together like gull’s feet. The second one was red and its legs were round, not pointy. It had 5 legs and the pattern on it was really pretty. Rueben’s Reef Observations: Back to the Reef

Today I went back to the reef. I was working with a lady called Hannah. We had to work with a quadrant. In our quadrant we found crabs, chitons, and a couple types of algae. I was in a group with Alpha, Leon and Moses. We went to the reef. I saw sypharochiton, chamaesipho barnacles, sea slugs, and an anemone. My favorite would be the starfish. Here are some of our quadrant measurements: Quadrant 1: 85% ulva algae (sea lettuce)…

They do that if they’re annoyed and agitated but if they aren’t sticky they are in a happy…

The seastar has 5 arms and a round pad in the middle. Sometimes they are stripy and lots of different colors. You can find them in different places mostly under rocks. They have long arms.
